Adding to Batman template

[edit]

I'd suggest it be added to the {{Batman}} template, probably under Miscellanea. CovenantD 22:10, 17 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Birds of Prey

[edit]

Batman barely appeared in flashback in Birds of Prey. Even so, the series is a Bat-show. Set in Gotham City (called New Gotham for no good reason), it stars his daughter, Alfred, Batgirl, and (recurring) Harley Quinn, all of whom are Bat-characters, with appearances by Catwoman (also in flashback), Clayface, and the Joker. However, it does not fit the theme of the list because it did not star Batman. There's plenty of room for Birds of Prey. I'm just wary of adding it because then the issue will come up about various cartoons Batman appeared in without being the central character, and then we'll have Onstar commercials and lord knows what else. Right now, as the list is defined, Batman's name has to be in the title. Doczilla 09:17, 21 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm. The Dark Knight is the exception, right? :) —Erik (talkcontrib) - 03:41, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, Erik. Technically, they're still using his name, just not the main one. Ace Class Shadow; My talk. 16:04, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Isn't it supposed to be Batman: The Dark Knight? Even if they're not referring to it that way yet, surely they'll call it that so it's in the right section with the other DVDs.Doczilla 07:30, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha! Good one, Doc. Ace Class Shadow; My talk. 15:55, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Oh shit...you were serious? Dude, that title is solid. First off, Nolan got tired of the whole "Batman [blank]" naming comvention. Second, "the right place on home video"? What the...? First off, I rarely see well organized home videos. Second, since when has a major motion picture been named or renamed for "organizational reasons"? Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark Rhindle The Red 04:07, 15 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Pitch Black has had a DVD release as Chronicles of Riddick: Pitch Black. Incidentally, Raiders predates DVD and predates people owning lots of movies. VHS wasn't nearly as popular as DVD for home purchase. Doczilla 05:26, 15 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Name and format

[edit]

I've moved the list to a more appropriate name, as naming conventions for lists state that it should start with "List of....". I don't like the end "Batman cast members", but I couldn't think of a more appropriate name that encompasses several different mediums. I'm going to work on a table format to introduce to the article so that it will be better organized. I'll try and create one for each medium, so as to separate them from each other.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 15:27, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • It's only a "more appropriate name" because you turned it into a different list. You removed all the TV shows. The format for the charts is very interesting, but it's not the same thing. While I like the charts in and of themselves and think they could be useful somewhere, I don't think they'll be helpful to people who want to look up specific cast lists. Doczilla 21:07, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Television cast and film casts should be separate. Other than moving the television cast, this is the same list as what was there before. I've only organized it into a table, per List of Harry Potter films cast members example. Feel free to revert it, but the other way was rather redundant. Listing the same people over and over again for each film.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 21:20, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Batman Fights Dracula

[edit]

I'm removing this section. It's superfluous - if we add that, we ought to add Grayson, Dead End, World's Finest, Alyas Batman and Robin, etc. No fan films. Emperornortonx (talk) 19:28, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

James Batman

[edit]

There is a Batman movie which was omitted from this list: James Batman.  Randall Bart   Talk  00:40, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Scope

[edit]

Is there a good reason for the inclusion of JLA and Superman films in this list?

And from where I stand "Batman is in it" isn't a good reason.

Young Joker in Batman Forever

[edit]

Actor David U. Hodges played "the shooter of Wayne's parents" in Bruce Wayne's nightmare sequences in the film Batman Forever—which, according to the first film, is the Joker. Though he is never named it is well established that it is indeed a sequel of the first two films, making the gunman Jack Napier/The Joker. In Batman Forever, the character also was indirectly mentioned by Bruce as "a maniac". Hodges was credited as "The Shooter", but that does not change the fact that they are the same character, because of the similar flashbacks to the first film - and the indirect references.

This appearance of the character should be added in the article. - MarcFernando77 (talk) 10:09, 09 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format. —KuyaBriBriTalk 20:58, 14 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Robert De Niro's character for Joker is listed as Jack Ryder, this is incorrect - the character's name is Murray Franklin. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 139.80.239.133 (talk) 09:51, 4 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The Batman NOT DCEU

[edit]

The upcoming Batman film should not be in any way connected with the DC Extended Universe. It had already established Commissioner Gordon as being white, so casting Jeffrey Wright in the role would be contradictory and must belong to an entirely different continuity. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.218.91.2 (talk) 00:42, 14 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

When was Scarecrow in Batman and Robin?

[edit]

Unless I missed out on an important scene, when does he appear in the movie? I NEVER saw him! Ft763 (talk) 11:58, 3 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Coolio played a bit part in Batman and Robin and said in an interview it was supposed to set him up playing the villain in the next movie, which was supposed to be the Scarecrow. But there is no indication of this in the movie. I have removed it. Rhino131 (talk) 12:42, 3 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
