Image:Arbutus.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Rename and merge proposal[edit]

I come with this proposal to rename this page to "List of Disney's Aladdin characters" so that it can contain characters not only related to the TV series but also to the whole franchise. I also suggest this name to ensure not only minor characters are listed here, but also secondary or even main characters that do not meet Notability.

For that purpose, I propose to merge the following articles into this list:

This is due to the fact that all of these characters have not managed to prove Notability outside the Aladdin franchise. This means that none of the have recieved deep coverage by reliable secondary sources, discussing the characters individually and not only mentions within a review of the films or series. Just one objection. You might let the creators of the articles know on their talk pages or otherwise that you are deleting their articles and state reasons why. I didn't join Wikipedia to have all my articles deleted without notice. /\\//\|_()|\| (talk) 22:55, 1 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Merge proposal[edit]

I come with this new proposal to include Jafar, Genie (Aladdin), Iago (Aladdin) and Magic Carpet (Aladdin) into this list mainly because those characters, though clearly important within the Aladdin franchise, have not managed to prove Notability outside Aladdin and other Disney media (House of Mouse, Kingdom Hearts, etc.) This means that none of these characters has recieved deep coverage by a vast amount of reliable secondary sources, discussing the character individually and separatedly from the series (a couple of lines taken from a review on the film are not Notability). I would like to put iago back into an individual article. There are sources discussing in his own right as a character(often saying he is annoying etc) and he is also frequently talked about in things dealing with his very distinctive voice artist Gilbert.RafikiSykes (talk) 20:02, 30 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Names of Kingdoms[edit]

Although the cartoon series claims Aladdin lives in a World of Seven Kingdoms-only the following are named:

Kingdom of Agrabah.
Kingdom of Land of the Black Sands
Kingdom of land of Getzistan
Kingdom of the Odiferous
Kingdom of the Galifems
Kingdom of land of Mesmaria

The Genie's Jewish?[edit]

Eric Goldberg said in a 2004 DVD extra that he drew the Genie as Jewish to show that Jews and Arabs can get along. I think that's pretty sweet! Does anybody have a copy of the DVD to properly cite? Rajah the Tiger[edit]

Jasmine's pet tiger looks like a tiger but acts much like a dog -- as the description shows. Dogs would do what Rajah does -- but real tigers wouldn't be so gentle, empathic, and trustworthy.Pbrower2a (talk) 04:43, 24 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Arabic rendering of names[edit]
