Dates of transfers

[edit]

I think the dates should be changed to the acutal dates the transfers took place. I know that the players do not become official squad members until July 1, 2008, but the actual transfer date takes place prior to first day of summer window. I'll just write an opening statement saying that although these transfers take place before summer window opening day, they do not become official members of squad until July 1, 2008. I just think we should do this because its June 1 today and a lot of players have been left out of the table, and adding players out of order makes it harder to track when they were transfered. I'll go ahead and change it, but just discuss here your thought on this. --Muppeteer (talk) 23:56, 1 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Per www.lfp.es and www.lega-calcio.it were better. Matthew_hk tc 20:16, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Only confirmed transfers

[edit]

I am going to delete all players whose signing wasn't confirmed by at least one of the parties. Sports websites should not be considered as reliable sources, as they do not establish "officiality" of the related transfer, and only official club statements should be accepted as valid sources instead. For instance, Barzagli and Lanzafame weren't announced yet by Wolfsburg and Palermo respectively, so they should not be included. --Angelo (talk) 21:59, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dani Alves

[edit]

Dani Alves transferred from sevilla to barcelona but he isn't listed. please fix.190.58.3.93 (talk) 18:14, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This article is for Italian football transfers. Dani Alves is a Spanish footballer moving from a Spanish club to another Spanish club, so you can easily understand this is not the right place to list him. --Angelo (talk) 18:29, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Serie A: by team" layout

[edit]

I have added Atalanta's transfers in this format. In my opinion, this type of format is easier to read and search than the chronological layout currently in use. What's everyone else's thoughts on this? Foxtrot1985 (talk) 01:23, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I just don't like it at all, that's why I'm going to revert it. By the way, this kind of layout removes several relevant information, such as the date of transfer and the official source confirming the move. Better to keep the good-old huge sortable table. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, anyway, but please consider using your sandbox next time, as your edits are quite a dramatic change that needs to be discussed prior to be applied. --Angelo (talk) 20:47, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
How would you feel about adding the layout to the club pages? I notice some clubs already have this kind of format. Also, the current format doesn't list loan returns. Official sources and dates can be easliy implemented. Foxtrot1985 (talk) 12:11, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Season transfers are normally discouraged by our Manual of Style, and are usually deleted once the transfer windows gets closed. Anyway, this is obviously not a issue to be discussed right here. --Angelo (talk) 19:50, 15 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
