Many are NOT Spanish-Americans!

[edit]

Do you not know anything about Spanish cast system? Many listed here are not seen as Spanish, they are nothing more than Multi-ethnic/mix Americans on here! Spanish-Americans are just that Spanish! To have some spanish ancestry is one thing but to identify as a Spanish-American is another. I mean you might as well list African-Americans as English-Americans if you are playing this silly game.

Notes

[edit]

Consider: 1) how should this list be organized; by occupation, for example. 2) how to get all necessary citations collected 3) whether birth/death years need to be added to each person

[edit]

Long ago, there was a discussion between I and one user regard the Spanish ancestries of Vanessa Hunter (I had included in the list of Spanish American to Vanessa Hunter and she had removed to she). I had included next to your name on the list, a reference in which she had an interview and she mentioned her four ancestries, among which was the Spanish, making it clear that she is, in part, a Spanish American. The user, deleted to she of the list with the excuse of that:

  1. She did not have Spanish ancestors and if she had them, was so far away that she not knew, when I had put the reference that indicated that she did have Spanish ancestries. We discussed about his Spanish ancestry and I had to try to convince her for a long time to that she accept what had said Vanessa Hunter.
  2. Still, she said if she had said in an interview his descent must be because there was something behind (and therefore she had lied), because this user said me that she never would say where are his ancestry (I have no problem in saying of that places are mine, because I'm proud of them all) and yet, to she seemed normal that Lalaine had said their ancestries, since, although she acknowledged that the actress had said he had Spanish descent, said she just felt proud that his parents were Philippine. Furthermore, to she asked what their ancestries in the interview, so she said it. The user refused to believe to Vanessa Hunter, when she had mentioned it: She did not want for anything in the world that Vanessa Hunter had Spanish ancestors and his arguments were not being neutral.
  3. In addition, she said that the actress could not have Spanish ancestry because she was brunette complexion and did not look like Penelope Cruz, even though I said that in Spain, in addition to light-skinned people, had many people with fair complexions brown and the actress does not distinguish much of them (and I know this because I am Spanish and I have met many people with brunette skin), so she felt that Vanessa Hunter only looked like the Polynesian race (His parents are Philippine of Spanish, native American, Chinese and Irish descent) and therefore only had Philippine ancestry (by the way, the physical features of Vanessa Hunter are not Mongoloid). Still, being she a mix of Chinese, Irish, Spanish and Native American (as she said in the interview that I already mentioned) would not be so rare that she had acquired the color of the skin of one of its origins, although would been the filipino, so that this argument was not valid (one of the reasons why I felt stupid discuss their subrace). Aside from the fact that the user did acknowledge that Lalaine, which is of brunette complexion, is of Spanish descent (she also mentioned), but because she said that was just proud that his parents were Philippine.

Due to the unreliability which I give to his arguments because she presented no reliable reference (not even presented any reference) to indicate that what she said was true, and however, I did filed a reliable source indicating that it that I said was true (without that reference, I never would included to him in the list), I've had to include it back to the list of Spanish Americans because I have no any reference that tells me she does not have Spanish ancestors. Because in my reference was she who said it, The reference I should of have for change the idea and remove to him from the list has to be a reference more current that wich I put, where is she who refuses to have Spanish ancestry (in which she would contradict herself), or give their Spanish ancestors are far away. Until I get that reference, Vanessa Hunter will remain on the list, because I'm trying to make the list as complete as possible. --Isinbill (talk) 23:38, 26 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
