Comment

[edit]

If anybody can help find the lesser known remix albums that would be great. There have been many but we only have a few

Yes, for example, Björk's remix album Telegram is probably around 1 million copies. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 205.151.62.155 (talk) 13:34, 24 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Reliability of sources

[edit]

While I appreciate that an attempt has been made to reference the sales figures here by linking to external sites, without exception these are links to fan sites which estimate global sales for a particular disc, without providing any justification in the form of certified sales figures from individual countries. As has been discussed on several Wikipedia chart-related articles, there are no reliable worldwide sales certifications, particularly for individual albums, and fan sites (however carefully assembled and researched) aren't always reliable sources. A best effort would indeed be to add up certifications that are known, but there's no evidence that this has happened here. On one level, it seems to me that this might invalidate the basis for the entire article -- but given that it is a topic of interest and there's obviously been some effort to compile this, a better approach might be to better document the limitations of this approach within the article (though that would also need to be done in a way that didn't constitute original research). What about Thriller 25th? It has sold more than 5 millions so far... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Harrana (talkcontribs) 16:29, 4 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thriller 25th

[edit]

What about Thriller 25th? It has sold more than 5 millions so far... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Harrana (talkcontribs) 16:32, 4 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It's not primarily a remix album. — Realist2 16:39, 4 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

So, it's what? It is PRIMARILY a remix album. Are you kidding me? It's a remix of songs from the album Triller and you tell me it's not primarily a remix album? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.242.243.201 (talk) 21:44, 6 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No, it's primarily a reissue of old song and a DVD, with no more than 5 remixes. — Realist2 21:48, 6 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ayumi Hamasaki?

[edit]

She has released 19 remix albums, and Super Eurobeat presents Ayu-ro mix should be on this list —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.31.224.78 (talk) 03:17, 29 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I added the album, then it was removed. :| —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.29.242.109 (talk) 03:05, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Love Sales

[edit]

The Beatles 'Love' album sold over 6 million copies in 2006 but is not featured on your chart. Its re-release in 2011 has seen it top Digital download charts all over the planet. Its sales must now be about 7 million, making it the biggest selling re-mix album in history. Updated sale figure for Love should be found. The Album has probably sold an additional 300 000 which would put it first on the list. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 200.118.27.157 (talk) 16:29, 30 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What about the remix album "Love" by The Beatles? It has sold more than 6 million and it is not here? According to Wikipedia it has sold like 6,250,000 making it the biggest remix album of all time. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.181.74.102 (talk) 04:12, 2 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is not a reliable source. Tbhotch © Happy New Year 04:57, 2 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

BPI, Billboard, ARIA and other sources all confrim that global sales of Love by the Beatles exceed 7 million. Your list is a lie. Why? Love also won 2 grammies. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.181.190.131 (talk) 23:01, 6 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

BPI, Billboard, Aria and various other sources all confirm that global sales of the Beatles Love album show it has exceeded 7 milion sales. Why is it not No1 on your list? Why is it not even featured on your list. It lso won two grammies. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.181.190.131 (talk) 22:57, 6 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Blood on the dance floor

[edit]

The reference #6 does not take you to any information about this album being the world's best-selling remix album. It takes you to Amazon, when you can purchase the album. --79.43.162.171 (talk) 13:06, 6 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It was vandalism, I changed it to the real sales TbhotchTalk C. 19:21, 9 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Can you add links? The Grammys are irrelevant here. Tbhotch. Grammatically incorrect? Correct it! See terms and conditions. 22:32, 7 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Inclusion on this list

[edit]

I think that this list is over-inclusive, and therefore I've taken out all the remix albums that have sold less than a reasonable amount - in my opinion, one million copies.--90.220.160.177 (talk) 21:58, 11 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm suprised that Bobby Brown's Dance!...Ya Know It! album which lists platinum, Madonna (entertainer)'s You can dance which lists 5 million and New Kids on the Block's No More Games/The Remix Album album aren't on the list. --Mjrmtg (talk) 02:36, 12 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Diddy's album

[edit]

Didn't Diddy have a platinum remix album? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.255.42.114 (talk) 21:33, 23 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The edit done for the album Reanimation was correct! So I had to edit the table! I got a reference for it! The reference given shows all the albums sold by the band, theiir peak position and their sales! This can also be confirmed on the wikipedia page of Remix Album. It is clearly written there that the best selling rap remix album is Linkin Park's Reanimation released in 2002. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 49.249.143.193 (talk) 07:17, 4 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

The remix album collision course by Linkin Park and Jay_Z had sold over 5,000,000 in the whole world. It has various certification of platinum and gold. You can check this on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linkin_Park_discography#Remix_albums or Collision Course. It went to #1 on the Billboard 200 upon its release. As of August 2009, it has sold 1,934,000 copies in the United States alone. It has sold more than 5 million copies worldwide. Source of Paula Abdul's "Shut Up And Dance" only for US

[edit]

The source of Paula Abdul's remix album is writing about 1 million copies sold in the U.S. The article of "Shut Up And Dance" itself says 5 million - maybe change the number and source? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.88.230.231 (talk) 23:09, 26 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
