Scope

[edit]

This seems to be a List of NHS hospitals in England. Does the article need to be renamed? Views? Millstream3 (talk) 10:55, 19 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No, it just needs to be expanded; there are a number of non-NHS hospitals in the list. However, dividing the list up into strategic health authorities wasn't perhaps the best of ideas (and I've no idea why London is at the top of the list and formatted differently to the rest). waggers (talk) 10:58, 19 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I don't mind the SHA divisions (they are now coterminous with governmental areas of England) but perhaps the thing to do would be to * or † private/independent hospitals? Millstream3 (talk) 12:00, 19 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That sounds like a good plan. A few of them have things like "(independent)" added, but using symbols is probably a better approach. waggers (talk) 20:41, 19 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The Old Manor Hospital in the South West area closed several years ago and has been succeeded by a new collection of wards called Fountain Way. This name makes reference to the fountain that stood (and still stands) for many decades at the entrance to the now closed Old Manor. I worked there for 25+ years and still live nearby. Is this supposed to be a list of all the hospitals which have ever existed in England? And what counts as a hospital as far as the article is concerned?Rathfelder (talk) 09:36, 8 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

This is going to be an enormous article! A list of just London ones Secretlondon (talk) 18:20, 18 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
