Peristerona

[edit]

I was wondering, I know of a mosque in the village of Peristerona. I have personally seen it, it also appeared in the old £5 Cypriot pound banknote. I can only assume it is a historic mosque. I wanted to ask, because we have so little information about this mosque, - as far as I can tell - is there any point in adding it onto the table? Should we leave it until additional information is found, or place it now and when additional information is found add it?

To be honest I don't know much about mosques in Cyprus, especially those located in the south. However, if this mosque appeared on a Cypriot banknote then it must be notable enough to be in this list. You might find this mosque listed in one of the "external links" which I have provided.Turco85 (Talk) 13:16, 28 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for pointing out the external links, I hadn't really noticed them. The first website proved to be very useful, Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot Religious buildings Built before 1974, well found. I was able to find the mosque, they gave it the simple name of 'Peristerona Mosque' [1]. The page has quite a few pictures, I'm not even going to attempt to upload them. It's no big secret that I'm not the best at uploading files, I digress. Once I saved this post I'm going to add Peristerona Mosque to the list, mention in the 'Remarks' that it was in the old £5 Cypriot pound banknote. Thanks for the help Turco!

No problem! Thanks for your edits, I hope you continue to help improve this list. I will try to look for more free images and upload them to wiki. Happy editing! Turco85 (Talk) 02:10, 6 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
