Edgmond and Frenchgate merged in 2012 and became the Gateway Christian Church. Frenchgate is being enlarged and rebuilt with proceeds of sale of Edgmond to JPK Project, who are trying to convert it into residential/social facility for people w/ learning disabilities (planning app for this turned down 2/10/2012). Congregation from former Ceylon Baptist Church have acquired 16 Beach Road (50.777936, 0.300334; formerly Royal Naval Old Comrades Club) as their new church: http://baptist.org.uk/Articles/446075/Struggling_church_finds.aspx. RNOCC founded 1947 and moved to this site in 1951.
