Table
[edit]Eventually I plan to put these plants into a table. If someone wants to help out, don't hesitate. This is going to be a very tedious project.Rhatsa26X (talk) 16:52, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
I inputted Gibson Generating Station's Data as a template for the rest of the table Rhatsa26X (talk) 17:14, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
I now have almost half of the coal plant infolist complete. I used data from sourcewatch.org, a website almost exactly like wikipedia almost to the point that I would suspect that the two are partners. Their data on the plants is extensive and it includes ALL of Indiana's Plants. Rhatsa26X (talk) 20:00, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
Coal Power Plant Table Complete as of 1910 hours Central (Correct) Daylight Time - Phase I Complete. Rhatsa26X (talk) 00:21, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
SourceWatch.org is a MediaWiki Partner laid out almost exactly like Wikipedia, so rest assured this data has backing. In fact their pages are more stringent than Wikipedia's. Rhatsa26X (talk) 00:25, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
- SourceWatch is not affiliated with the Wikimedia Foundation and thus is not a "Wikipedia partner". Rather, the SourceWatch site is a wiki running on the same MediaWiki software that powers Wikipedia, so its user interface is similar. Whether SourceWatch constitutes a reliable source is a separate issue. However, power station statistics are generally a matter of public record and not particularly controversial, so I doubt that anyone will feel inclined to dispute them. In any case, look at other state lists in List of power stations in the United States to see the sources they use. --Teratornis (talk) 20:07, 8 May 2010 (UTC)
The D. H. Mitchell Generating Station closed last year. I also seem to recall that another Northern Indiana coal plant closed at the same time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 73.36.206.197 (talk) 06:19, 12 January 2015 (UTC)
Rename
[edit]I renamed the title from List of Generating Stations in Indiana to List of power stations in Indiana, to comply with:
- The WP:LOWERCASE for titles
- The convention in List of power stations in the United States, Category:Lists of power stations, and {{PowerStationsUnitedStates}}.

eGRID list is available from EPA, also the State Line generating station is missing.
[edit]The EPA publishes a database Emissions & Generation Resource Integrated Database (eGRID) which contains information on all generating stations in the U.S. in a spreadsheet. If somebody wants to update the information on this page, that might be a handy place to start. Here is the data download page where you can find the 2019 spreadsheet. Look at the tab labeled PLNT19
.
It occured to me that State Line Generating Plant in Hammond was an odd omission from this table. I found it had been deleted in years after it closed, but before closure dates had been added to the table. I restored State Line and included its closure dates. -- M.boli (talk) 13:00, 3 August 2021 (UTC)
