Is this encyclopedic?[edit]

No doubt the litany of the saints is an important topic to be covered. That's how I clicked here, I was curious. However, the bulk of this article is the verbatim latin, and english translation. I would have expected this article to address the meaning and signifigance of the litany. The litany in its entirety would probably be more appropriate in a wiki sister project, like wikitext. --Garrettcobb 23:00, 19 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

By all means copy over the actualy litany into Wikisource, but could we please keep the introduction as it will need to be worked up into a proper article. JASpencer 22:36, 28 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Parallel text[edit]

I changed the text to be parallel. In the process, I noticed the translation of the psalms is wrong, because the number of verses in English differ from Latin. I have also noticed that in a number of places the translation appears to insert words not in the Latin original, e.g. the repeated translation of "Dómine" as "good Lord" when it simply means "Lord" (as in for example "Líbera nos, Dómine" or "Exáudi nos, Dómine" or "Parce nobis, Dómine". I think I might turn all the "good Lord" into "good". Still needs to move to Wikisource. --SJK 11:51, 5 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Abbreviated form[edit]

The article says that the canonical form is celebrated at the Easter Vigil. It then says an abbreviated form is celebrated at that time. My question is, abbreviated from what? Rwflammang (talk)

Pre-Vatican II text[edit]

Shouldn't this also be moved to Wikisource? Mannanan51 (talk) 03:10, 23 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
