name[edit]

Which is his name, and which his title? We really need to remove "Rev." and revert to name only as per WP:MOS about honorifics-Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom doesn't have her queenly title, and Akihito isn't referred to imperially in his namespace. Chris 06:38, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This is a good question -- Luangpho Ajahn (หลวงพ่ออาจาร) is a title, but I don't know about "Tala". This confusion extends to the names of several other monks, whose titles are often confused for names; this apparent by how they are sometimes sorted, for example, Theravada monks whose names have been merged with the title "Phra" (พระ), such as Phrabhavanaviriyakhun. But I must admit that this is mostly deductive reasoning on my part. Perhaps there is some Thai convention that I am completely unaware of. (Please let me know.) Still, I'd vote to move this page to one which doesn't include the honorifics. Aaron Lee (talk) 17:00, 15 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
