Fair use rationale for Image:Popp.jpg[edit]

Image:Popp.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Romanian origin?[edit]

Lucia Popp is a typical Romanian name. In fact, the name Pop (with variants Popp, Popa, Popescu) is by far the most common name in Romania, according to the 2002 National Census. Does Lucia have any Romanian origin? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.105.123.228 (talk) 01:35, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Lucia Poppová was born on November 12, 1939 at Záhorská Ves, Slovakia. Others say it was in another town in what is now the Czech Republik. Her last name was probably shortened due to people having pronunciation problems. But the name Poppová makes it a Slavic name, not Romanian or Czech. It would be nice to know why she changed her name.--Frglz (talk) 05:04, 28 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Apparently, people in Vienna were simplifying her surname to Popp, and because she liked the it so much, she started using "Popp". Problem is, I cannot remember which source stated that. WU00110154 (talk) 11:40, 28 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

"born Luzia Poppová" is incorrect information. See https://sk.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucia_(prv%C3%A9_meno) or https://operaslovakia.sk/prva-na-opernych-olympoch-k-nedozitej-osemdesiatke-lucie-poppovej/ . 1990's interview is about the pronunciation. The letter 'c' is pronounced as /ts/ in 'its' (or /z/ in German 'zeit') in Slovak/Slavic language(s). 95.47.178.141 (talk) 20:18, 1 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Lucia played also "Marica" in the movie "Štyridsaťštyri/Forty four" (1957) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0268666/ 95.47.178.141 (talk) 18:43, 28 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
