Lumholtz’s “discovery”
[edit]Hi Wikipedians, I think we can tweak the language surrounding Lumholtz’s “discovery”, especially given that aboriginal communities have their own word for this creature, and indeed the forests where it lives are named after it (“mapi” or “mabi”). Maybe Lumholtz collected or described the first specimen for science, but there is good evidence that it was actually discovered by humans long before any white person “discovered” Australia.
