We need to find a source that says he was born on 23 September 1919 before it was said on Wikipedia or before the news about his 100th being celebrated on 23 September 2018 was published. Unless the dates sync at exactly 99 years, it is more likely that the birthdate was reached at by induction from the fact that his 100th celebration fell on 23 September, but it is known that the celebration was per his birthdate in Bikram Sambat calendar, not Gregorian. I have found a source that says he was born on 7 Ashoj 1976 BS, but do not know if there is any mathematics that can translate the date going back a 100 years.
He was certainly born in the second half of September, 1919. Sources that say otherwise (some say 1918, presumably induction from the fact that his 100th was celebrated in 2018) are wrong. His 100th was celebrated in 2018. This is likely because finishing 99 and starting 100 was the milestone, not becoming 100 years old which he only achieved in 2019. At the time of his death, he was still 100 as he was a month short of finishing 101. Again, whether because of the 100 celebration in 2018 or because it was only a matter of a single month, Nepali sources like to say he was 101, which is inaccurate.
