Date in respect of new club seems inaccurate
[edit]This article claims "The void left by the club in the town of Maidstone was filled by the new Maidstone United, who were known as Maidstone Invicta until 1994." However, the article on that club says the club changed its name in 1995 - this would seem to fit in if the 'new' club ceased to be Maidstone Invicta at the end of 31 December 1994, except that Press Reader website (Kent Messenger Maidstone: 2015-04-24 - Timeline) has the date of 1997 from the Kent Messenger. aspaa (talk) 23:55, 23 August 2019 (UTC)
Founding Date
[edit]Both the new Maidstone United website and the Independent article referenced in this page refer to the founding date as 1897. However RSSSF has a Maidstone United playing in the top division of Kent League in 1896-97 and the inaugural season of 1894-95. Football Club History Database (http://www.fchd.info/MAIDSTOU.HTM) has them as a founding member of the Kent League in 1894-95. I'm not familiar with the subject beyond what a google search can bring so I thought I'd ask if anyone has a good idea of how to resolve the conflicting sources. - On a practical note, since the page title includes 1897, I'm not excited about messing with it. QuicoGaliana (talk) 13:31, 3 September 2019 (UTC)
