Lebanese Communist Party
[edit]The Lebanese Communist Party was never a part of March 8!! It did not participate in the demonstration at all and organizaed it own rally on March 11, 2005. LCP is in the opposition but not in March 8. It considers itself to be closer to FPM and Hizbolla than to other political parties in Lebanon, but it is not a member of March 8 Alliance!

FPM
[edit]The FPM is de facto in association with the March 8 Alliance which is another name of the opposition. Splitting the opposition in two different blocks only implies that the opposition is weak, and because the FPM is one of the main parties of the opposition, I am merging the two blocs in one.
Are you crazy? the term March 8 alliance is an illusion. FPM never stated that it belongs to a March 8 alliance, but to the opposition. FPM was the core participant of the March 14 movement. I deleted what you put about FPM being in the March 8. This term is used by loyalist medias, and does in no way represent the reality of things. 80.98.245.112 (talk) 01:02, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
No, I am not crazy and I consider myself as —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.62.138.74 (talk) 20:52, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
No, I am not crazy and I consider myself as a supporter of the FPM and the opposition in general. I am aware that the FPM didn't protest on March 8 and I never claimed that in the article. I just said that splitting the opposition in two blocks only implies that it is weak, which will be the true March 14 propaganda so I "merged" the two blocs in one. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.62.138.74 (talk) 20:55, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
Change of name
[edit]This page should have it's name changed from "march 8 alliance" to "Lebanese opposition" since some of the current parties of the opposition participated in the march 14 2005 demonstrations (like FPM) and some of the participants of March 8 2005 demonstrations are know part of the Loyalist's block (like the islamic group).
- not sure if this is the reason for the update tag, but...
- A vague "opposition" is not fitting because this keeps changing. March 8 is the known term used by both sides to refer to the group, and should parties come in or leave they can be removed with a note saying they were here from X - Y.Lihaas (talk) 06:16, 4 September 2010 (UTC)
- Primo, the Jamaa Islamiya did not participate in the rally of March 8, 2005. Segundo: You cannot call an alliance that participates in the government and controls several key posts as opposition. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Thh00 (talk • contribs) 09:31, 1 October 2010 (UTC)
Too many parties included
[edit]The alliance is only one part of the government, the FPM and others are not part of the bloc. FunkMonk (talk) 09:42, 24 May 2012 (UTC)
FPM is a pillar of the March 8 Alliance
