He also bassed on Zoolook by J.M. Jarre. Worth mentioning, or was he sessioning so extensively this would not be notable? JFW | T@lk 09:15, 28 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

What's up with his discography? None of the Sanborn era pages link to relevant CD's.

Marcus Miller was infact a very impotant musician during the 70's and 80's with Miles Davis, which is unfortunately not mentioned on Markus Miller's page. What would "we want miles" would have been without Miller??? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.202.105.59 (talk) 19:30, 20 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Jamaican?

[edit]

I think Miller is Jamaican you know, hence his album Jamaician boy---Halaqah 03:27, 8 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Jamaica Boys was an American funk trio. I do not believe they have any direct connection to Jamaica. 77.167.212.162 (talk) 16:16, 14 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Don't know about MM's descent, but Jamaica apparently is a neighbourhood in Queens; Jamaica, Queens. Quoting the article: "The neighborhood of Jamaica is completely unrelated to the Caribbean nation of Jamaica (although many residents are immigrants from Jamaica); the name similarity is a coincidence." If I'm not mistaken, MM grew up in Queens in this neighborhood together with other members of the Jamaica Boys, hence the name of the group. Whether MM is of Jamaican descent I don't know. --Vunzmstr (talk) 10:36, 17 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I would agree. Young males from Jamaica (in Queens) call themselves Jamaica Boys. It seems an obvious name for a band comprising of three young males from Jamaica (in Queens). There is also the fact that many ports have streets or neighbourhoods named after the places they traded with. Places like Bristol, for example, have a Jamaica Street. There are also several towns in the USA that are named Jamaica. JHvW 12:53, 31 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Photograph

[edit]

I substituted the photograph in the infobox because the text places emphasis more than once on the public viewing the bass as being Miller's primary instrument. Having a photo from the same year where he is merely pointing at something outside the photo seemed uneventful in comparison to this fantastic photograph showing him playing the fretless bass. If I have stepped on toes in doing so, I sincerely apologize. I also think with a little wikification and a liberal sprinking of references, the article is well written, and should do very well.--leahtwosaints (talk) 14:20, 15 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Actors

[edit]

What do the actors in the films have to do with Marcus Miller playing bass? The-Bus (talk) 18:16, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I would agree, but I believe this has been addressed because a listing of his film scores have been included. Although IMHO the section referring to his composing could be better written. 77.167.212.162 (talk) 08:22, 14 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Zoolook

[edit]

Add Zoolook to his discography. 178.43.202.137 (talk) 11:26, 16 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
