[edit]

Hello everyone;

I am adding this section to report back, out of courtesy, to other editors interested in the present article, since I have attempted to improve it after exchanging ideas with Koro Neil, who had initially created it. (I recently came across it while I was creating the article on Andy Irvine's album Way Out Yonder, which included Turner's song "When The Boys Are On Parade".)

Here are the changes I applied:

  1. Added a standard Wikipedia Infobox;
  2. Added a new Music career section header, preserving all the prose contributed by earlier editors;
  3. Added a new Discography section, which I then updated with details available from various websites;
  4. Added reference citation tags, mainly in the form of links to existing websites;
  5. Re-worded some of the sentences and added wikilinks to other existing WP articles;
  6. Applied the Wikipedia standard of naming people, as per the guidelines that can be found here, at the Wikipedia Manual Of Style: MOS:BIO, at WP:FULLNAME; please see the short section headed First mention and then scroll down (quite a bit) until you reach the section headed Susbequent use. In practice, this meant that the previous CV approach of using the individual's first name throughout the article needed to be changed to using the surname. Therefore, I have changed all occurrences of "Marcus" to "Turner". However, I have also documented (in the first sentence of re-worded lead section) the point that Neil made to me, of Turner being generally known as "Marcus" throughout New Zealand.

There is one detail I could not find anywhere, and that is Marcus Turner's date and place of birth. If someone knows these (or has a way of finding out), then please consider taking on this small task and then updating the appropriate tags in the Infobox. Thank you.

I hope all of the above will be acceptable and that the changes I've applied will be seen as improvements; in any case, that was certainly my intent. Otherwise, then please feel free to revert, if and where appropriate.

With kind regards;

Death

[edit]

I understand that Marcus died of an aneurysm, but I've never seen confirmation of this. Can anyone help? Koro Neil (talk) 20:56, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
