I find this section self-serving, since I suspect it reflects the Wiki writer's independentista sentiments. While it's perfectly fine to include such a passage in Puerto Rican Independence Party literature, it's doubtful that it belongs here. Also, considering the long and varied career of the subject, I suspect it's one of the least important political stances he took. ~Andarin

Agreed. It has been copied over the pages of other writers such as Eduardo Galeano as well. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 148.87.1.167 (talk) 22:10, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

English Translation of Benedetti's Last Poem

[edit]

The translated line: El brillo marrón de los azulejos translated as: The brown sheen of the hummingbirds could be literally translated as: The brown sheen of the tiles. Think of the Museo Azulejos in Colonia de Sacramento, Uruguay, which is focused on Tiles not Hummingbirds. In Spain there is a beautiful blue flycatcher called locally: azulejos. The Disappeared

[edit]

Did this Mario Benedetti write something about "The Disappeared" that Antonio Frasconi famously illustrated in woodcuts? If so then it may need attention here, as the Frasconi biography needs attention desperately. See Talk:Antonio Frasconi#The Disappeared disappeared. --P64 (talk) 20:57, 29 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
