Ressources

The book "Yesterday, today and forever" (German: Gestern, heute, immerdar) tells the details about Martinas death. She died short after gave birth to a stillborn daughter (Notburga) in February 1951, only 30 years old.

That was explained in the book, that her heart suddenly stopped. Nobody knew why.

Maria Augusta - Martinas stepmother - went back from the Westcoast and were there, when Martina was burried on the cemetry of the logde.

I know about Jean Dupiere, that he is (was ?) a French-Canadian. Look here: William Anderson/David Wade, "The World of the Trapp Family", 1998

I read the William Anderson/David Wade biography about the Trapp Family exactly. On the family tree you can see, that Jean Dupire died. I don't know when, but I must have to be before 1998. The book was published 1998. --AndreaMimi (talk) 14:25, 6 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I read now "Gestern, heute, immerdar" (German) (the english title is: Yesterday, today and forever) and see, that Jean Dupiere has/had two brothers Pierre and Jaques, a sister-in-law Therese (Pierres) wife, and his mother lives/lived at this time - February 1951 - in Montreal.

You talk with your friends also with the firstname like Harry or June. And your boss with his surname like Mr. Roberts oder Mrs. Green.

And if you want to change it to "your" version, why don't you do that in the articles about Martinas siblings and halfsilblings (in progress) too ?

I don't use your first name anywhere. I use your Wikipedia user name, which may or may not be some combination of your real life name.

As to how I talk to people (for what it's worth, I call my boss Adam), that isn't relevant. We aren't concerned with how one talks to people (direct speech), but how one writes about people in an encyclopedia.

Wikipedia has guidelines on how things should be written, in order to maintain a uniform style of prose throughout, and in this instance the Manual of Style simply reflects common English Language prose usage.

As English is not your first language, you can be forgiven for not knowing this convention. What is far less forgiveable is the way in which you respond to anybody advising you that you have got it wrong. If somebody points out that you are violating the Manual of Style, the correct response is to accept that the Manual of Style overrides your personal preferences, the correct response is not to have a tantrum about people destroying your work, and demand that they leave your articles alone. Year of birth

The grave marker clearly indicates she was born in 1931. The immigration documents linked to (pictures one and three) speak of a Martina von Trapp who was 16 years of age in October 1939. Arguably, that Erika, the wife of Werner von Trapp, is independently described as "childhood friend of his sister Martina" (Stowe Reporter) gives cred to YoB 1921.
