Photographs on team website

[edit]

What would be the copyright status of the photos on the [teambarloworld.com team website]? They have a photo and this article needs one. Bart133 (t) (c) 15:32, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Usually, copyrighted to Barloworld, and these type of photo's aren't often accepted as fair use. If they were, I could add photo's to hundreds of articles :S. There has to be a way to get more people to put their own photo's of people online... --SeveroTC 15:57, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I know I have reverted more than three times on this article, but I believe it is an exception as listed:

reverts to remove clearly libelous material, or unsourced or poorly sourced controversial material about living persons

None of the edits so far have provided a reliable source, despite repeated requests. SeveroTC 23:17, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

http://www.cyclingpost.com/tour/article_005202.shtml The danish papers mentioned has been correct so far wrt. riders busted for doping.194.255.112.30 07:36, 28 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I retract the claim. From reports this morning it was obvious a false rumour. 194.255.112.30 10:45, 28 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Any reason not to use the full name?

[edit]

Just wondering. They used all four names on TV, and I've seen his name in print media (though admittedly not English print media) using all four. What's the basis for dropping 'Juan' and 'Hernández' ? Nosleep1234 17:46, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As a Hispanic name, Wikipedia:Naming conventions (people), which references (or at least used to) Spanish naming customs and encouraging the use of <first name> <last name>, namely the second surname should be dropped. A similar one is Óscar Pereiro over Óscar Pereiro Sio. When people have two <first names> (rather than family names), it can sometimes be confusing if just one (and then which one) or both should be used. Good enough I suppose. Nosleep1234 19:52, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
