Syrian state media coverage of the 2011 Syrian uprising (because all the sources were of SANA) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.249.146.210 (talk) 17:46, 10 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Removing unsourced BLP claims

[edit]

I've removed the material regarding the Gay Girl in Damascus hoax as it is largely irrelavnt to the discussion and does not appear to have been state-sponsored agitprop (outside fringe nutters on the interwebs). Keeping it here seems only to serve as a means of expressing personal vendetta agst cis/het males from western activists. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.239.143.244 (talk) 18:15, 15 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Propaganda section

[edit]

The first sentence of the propaganda section of the article reads "Propaganda has been used by both the Syrian government[18] and the west since the beginning of the conflict." That section _should_ focus solely on state propaganda (whether by the Syrian Arab Republic or states committed to its destruction) rather than on vague attributions to other actors. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.239.143.244 (talk) 18:36, 15 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Media coverage of the Syrian Civil War. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. [edit]

Tidies prose and simplified headers, I fear for the standing of an article that leans so heavily on CNN, The Guardian and COMbbc. Where are the countervailing articles from RT etc? Keith-264 (talk) 15:11, 9 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Off topic

[edit]

Stop resinseting this paragraph without using the talk page:

The United States' National Public Radio reported in November 2016 that in Damascus "Many here seem to be carrying on with grace and dignity, even enjoying mundane, simple pleasures."[1]

This has nothing to do with the subject of the paragraph (media propaganda) and is hence WP:OFFTOPIC. LucLeTruc (talk) 12:31, 28 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Alright. Will re-insert as just reporting on everyday life. No worries, mate. XavierItzm (talk) 10:48, 2 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Which does not make the entry worthy of inclusion. Imho it totally lacks context and gives no useful information at all. But at least now it contains no WP:OR or WP:POV anymore. LucLeTruc (talk) 14:17, 7 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I have added it back. It seems to me that a section that includes the sentence that the Syrian government "accusing the U.S. of propaganda" merits WP:BALANCE. I should add that a one-person complaint against well-sourced material from WP:RS does not give than person a veto right. XavierItzm (talk) 08:29, 11 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
