I seem to recall a "new" relationship between the MRC and the PR China started around 2009 or 2010, but can't find proper sources. Anyway, the section on relations with China seems a bit outdated, it ends in 2007. Shenhemu (talk) 01:23, 18 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I also recall something of that nature but can't find the reference. What we remembe may be something to do with the ODA funding agreements with ADB for the Greater Mekong Subregion (ADB-GMS, 1992) programs? However I attempted to open your reference to MRC China Summit 2010, but Wikipedia and Bing/Google refuse to open that as the press you referred to must be stale? Certainly the upper reaches of the river and China's massive dam do affent matters greatly. They have at one time warned they have an alternative outlet of that dam via Burmese rivers and as to do so would seriously rob the 4 downstream Mekong riparians of precious dry season waters etc. Unfortunately though I find discussions with PRC 2009/10 etc I find no PRC agreements, or special relationships to mention.Even though I am a 67 aged Australian living in SRV 23 years, memory fails me for detail so I too hope someone with more direct kniowledge can add what we seek here.--Robbygay (talk) 01:19, 12 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The lead-in says that this is an intergovernmental organization yet the information box calls it an NGO. These are fundamentally different organization classifications. 36.235.136.212 (talk) 23:01, 6 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
