– Species is no longer in Merapioidus, but it won't allow me to overwrite the existing redirect that's got the correct title. Dyanega (talk) 14:23, 12 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Note: pages with content, such as Criorhina villosa, are ineligible to be proposed titles in move requests unless they, too, are formally dispositioned. "Criorhina villosa → ?" has been added to this request to meet that requirement. P.I. Ellsworth , ed. put'er there 15:20, 12 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Seems like this should be a merge rather than a move. BegbertBiggs (talk) 15:32, 12 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That's my fault for not checking more carefully; in 99% of these cases I've encountered, one of the two pages is a redirect. Clearly, in this case someone created a second article for the same species under the other name. It doesn't even need to be a merge request; there is so little content that I would only need to modify the Criorhina villosa article slightly. To cancel the move request, do I just remove the template, or what? Dyanega (talk) 15:52, 12 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
