[edit]Mitchellville, Maryland, has a high proportion of African American residents (78.50%), and also has a high median household income ($84,687). I wonder how it ranks in income among majority African American neighborhoods. Anyone know? ~ Quacks Like a Duck 18:23, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
Places in Mitchellville
[edit]The lead says that Six Flags America, Country Club at Woodmore, Capital Centre, and Freeway Airport are in Mitchellville. However, using the boundaries depicted on the census page, all these places lie outside it's boundaries.
- Six Flags is on Central Avenue between Church Road and Rte 193, east of Mitchellville, in Woodmore, Maryland.
- Woodmore Country Club is off Woodmore Rd east of Mitchellville. It is in Woodmore, Maryland.
- Freeway Airport is on Church Rd east just off Rte 50, east of Mitchellville, and is probably in Woodmore, Maryland.
- The location of the Capital Centre was in Landover, Maryland, west of Mitchellville.
I am going to remove these from the article. MDfoo (talk) 18:47, 6 December 2011 (UTC)
- Per http://freewayaviation.com/, the airport is in Bowie. Toddst1 (talk) 19:01, 6 December 2011 (UTC)
- I think it's that three of these places (not the Cap Centre, not sure how that was even in this article) are in zip code 20721, which encompasses parts of Mitchellville, Woodmore, and Bowie. Mitchellville and Woodmore are unincorporated CDPs. The places actually reside in CDP Woodmore, however they can use any of the three as their address. If someone like Six Flags says they are in Mitchellville, that is OK with the Post Office, but does not jive with what the Census Bureau designates as its CDP.
