I'm leaving it here, from the second edition, p. 16:
Abu al-Uqul was the leading astronomer in Taiz, Yemen, circa 1300. His epithet al-Tabari, indicates that he or his family came originally from northern Iran. He was a contemporary of the ruler Ashraf and Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr al-Farisi, the latter also of Iranian stock.
It is clearly mentioned that Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr al-Farisi was of Iranian stock, and the also means Abu al-Uqul was also of Iranian stock, though this is unrelated to this article. What you are quoting is about Abu al-Uqul. -- Mazandar (talk) 23:44, 12 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I'm actually quoting al-Farisi article from the same source, which is more suitable:
Little is known of al-Fārisı̄’s life. His father appears to have emigrated from Persia, hence the name al-Fārisı̄. (P. Schmidl, BEA, 2nd edition, p. 698)
I hope you agree that information found in his own article would be more accurate compared to a claim made "in passing" elsewhere. Wiqi(55)01:54, 13 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
