Was surprised that this article didn't exist so I have created a stub. This could be moved to a title referring to the murder rather than an article under Ronan Kerr's name if that is felt to be appropriate. LukeSurltc00:23, 4 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
This article was just nominated, and quickly de-nominated, for speedy deletion on 2011-07-04. I will say that the murder of PC Ronan Kerr, and the reaction to it, was a very large news story in the UK for several days after the event. This can be seen by running a search for the "Ronan Kerr" the BBC news website. LukeSurltc13:02, 4 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Completely unacceptable to use the term murder. It is fair for you to consider it murder but the article should be retitled "Killing of Ronan Kerr" and use non-partisan terminology. Articles on all attacks by politically motivated groups avoid using the term "murder".--93.107.109.87 (talk) 10:58, 13 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
According to this source those that claimed the attack "insisted they were entirely separate from the Real IRA, Oglaigh na hEireann (ONH), and the Continuity IRA - and were intent on remaining so". Thus, although they may claim to be the "Real" IRA in a literal sense, I don't believe saying that Kerr was killed by the Real IRA is accurate. LukeSurltc20:11, 4 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
