What is the scope of this article?[edit]
To a botanist, nettles (usually/always Urtica) are quite different from deadnettles (if the latter are taken to be Lamium). They aren't even in the same family, or order. But I'm not sure how folklore classifies these plants. Any ethnobotanical sources out there? This would be another argument for merging this article into Urtica and Lamium (those parts which are referenced, anyway). Kingdon (talk) 20:32, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
- True, but folklore and common usage do not always follow scientific usage. I agree that we need some more references here. Dbfirs 04:01, 8 August 2009 (UTC)

Myth about arthritis[edit]
Re the section about stinging arthritic joints. It's not really a myth any longer, see a BBC report. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/771563.stm and the original publication, http://jrsm.rsmjournals.com/cgi/reprint/93/6/305.pdf
