A portion of this article has been blanked pending clarification of copyright status.

At the time of its creation in 2005, here, this article looks as though it may have been copied, perhaps with minimal alteration, from the official site, given the current version here. If so, then the current versions of this article, particularly the lead, would constitute an unauthorized derivative work of that copyrighted source. Although the material has subsequently been rearranged and expanded, much of the content remains. For two examples:

The New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA), founded in 1918,[1] is a voluntary, non-profit organization made up of 425 accredited public, private and parochial high schools in New Jersey. The daily administration is carried out by the executive director, Steve Timko. NJSIAA headquarters, is located on U.S. Route 130 in Robbinsville, New Jersey.

The source says:

The New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association, founded in 1918, is a voluntary, non-profit organization made up of 425 accredited public, private and parochial high schools in the state.... The daily administration is carried out by the Executive Director, Mr. Steven J. Timko, the Associate Director, Mrs. Carol W. Parsons, Assistant Directors, Mr. Donald E. Danser and Mr. Robert Baly, Mr. Larry White, Mr. John DuBois and the staff of the NJSIAA headquarters, which is located on Route 130 in Robbinsville, New Jersey.

From the final blanked paragraph:

The NJSIAA conducts tournaments and crowns champions in thirty–one sports — the most of any state association in the nation.[1] Championship competition for girls is sponsored in basketball, bowling, cross country, fencing, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, lacrosse, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, indoor and outdoor track, and volleyball. Boys championships are determined in baseball, basketball, bowling, cross country, fencing, football, golf, ice hockey, lacrosse, soccer, swimming, tennis, indoor and outdoor track, volleyball and wrestling.[1]

The source says:

The NJSIAA conducts tournaments, and crowns champions in thirty one sports. Championship competition for girls is sponsored in basketball, bowling, cross country, fencing, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, lacrosse, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, track-outdoor, track-winter, and volleyball. Boys Championships are determined in baseball, basketball, bowling, cross country, fencing, football, golf, ice hockey, lacrosse, soccer, swimming, tennis, track-outdoor, track-winter, volleyball and wrestling.

Substantial material between the lead and the final blanked paragraph is also duplicated in the official site.

Again, clarification is needed as to the copyright status of this material. The official site claims full copyright and has done so as far back as the archives go. There is no suggestion that the contents were copied from Wikipedia, and the official site was linked in the earliest version of this article, so we can verify that it existed even if archives do not go back that far. If permission cannot be verified, this material will almost certainly need to be rewritten in different language. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 23:26, 30 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Missing conference?

[edit]

There doesn't seem to be a conference article for Randolph High School which is supposedly in the Northwest Jersey Athletic Conference. Or a conference that is similarly named. Student7 (talk) 22:52, 6 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
