O-I Nomenclature and Turret Count

[edit]

We know that the translation of "O-I" in unabbreviated form meant "Big - 1," so why is it "O-I" instead of "O-1"

Furthermore, almost every other source and depiction of the O-I shows only a single turret in the rear, not two. Can we please change the last sentence in the third paragraph from: "The rear hull was designed to have two more smaller turrets..." to "The rear hull was designed to have another small turret..."?

In addition to this, almost every other existing depiction of the O-I gave the two frontal turrets a 47 mm cannon, can we also update the page to reflect this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.137.16.64 (talk) 00:10, 26 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

72.137.16.64 Can't exactly answer your second or third question, I can answer your first. オイ車 was the name of the tank in Japanese army nomenclature. It used the Iroha alphabet in which numbers 1-7 are pronounced "Iro wa nioedo" (Modern). They then just took the first letter 'I' and used that. Hope this clears everything up :) FORMULA1FAN71 (talk) 04:03, 28 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Main gun confusion

[edit]

In the article the main weapon is listed as the 105mm Type 92 cannon, but most of the documentation we got, especially the blueprints shown in this very article, cleary state it was meant to mount a 149mm Type 96 howitzer instead. Wouldn't it make more sense to add that gun to the article? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:8A0:57A9:DC01:C4D4:F0FB:D0A2:52A9 (talk) 12:27, 4 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
