Talk page for oil sands tailings ponds

[edit]

This page is focused on the Athabaska oil sands area.Oceanflynn (talk) 18:55, 2 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The page could possibly be renamed Oil sands tailings ponds (Canada) or Oil sands tailings ponds (Athabaska)to be more specific as it covers technology, environmental issues, regulations, etc specifically related to oil sands tailings ponds in the Athabaska oil sands area.Oceanflynn (talk) 19:52, 2 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed this great new article is pretty much Canada from 'Size and scope' down. I am no oil sands expert but it appears Canada, by far, has the largest reserves in the world. Venezuela, Kazakhstan and Russia have large reserves too. I am concerned about the level of sources we would get for tailings ponds for those countries. Is there anything else we can add or should be split the Athabaska stuff off into a separate article with this one as the main? Or we can make a section in oil sands and have this article as a Athabaska-specific split.--NortyNort (Holla) 21:32, 2 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks NortyNort (Holla). I have inserted the section into the section in oil sands article as you suggested.Oceanflynn (talk) 17:15, 4 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
