[edit]

This article makes inappropriate claims without sufficient evidence. Refs need to follow WP:MEDRS for medical claims.

This article is basically using sports people to advertise this technique. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 15:13, 30 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Undue weight[edit]

The listing of famous people who have received this procedure is undue weight. This is of course a famous advertising technique. Rather than evidence you get famous people to endorse your product. Nearly all these comments on people getting the procedure are in passing. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 15:30, 30 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

agree(and have edited accordingly)--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 15:34, 30 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Doc James and Ozzie10aaaa: I started the initial list and have no medical background or stake in this procedure, though I now see how it could be construed as a subtle endoresement of sorts. I still believe the list meets WP:LISTN, as enough sources talk about the people—especially athletes—who have had the procedure. I propose starting a standalone list like List of baseball players who underwent Tommy John surgery, which I think should eliminate any "endorsement" concerns from having the list on the same page.—Bagumba (talk) 03:49, 1 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hum, okay that will deal with the weight issues.
Evidence for this procedure is poor. Appears celebrity endorsement is one of the main marketing techniques. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 16:45, 1 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Looking under the generic name, to which the article has now been moved, I think their is enough to keep it. Has made a significant social impact. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 16:44, 30 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
