first off, am very appreciative that someone wrote this article. it is very good overall, just the last paragraph isn't making sense:
Due to the fact that the civil war that started in 1839 had escalated and spread to the Northern provinces, General Alcántara commissioned General Caycedo to lead the government troops in the northern campaign. Thus, Juan de Dios Aranzazu, President of the “Consejo de Estado” assumed the presidency from July 5, until October 19, 1841, when General Caycedo returned to the presidency. General Alcántara returned triumphant to Bogotá on May 19, 1842, and is sworn in as President.[1]
what is the "Consejo de Estado?" is that a different presidency from that of Colombia? and if General Caycedo led the government troops, why couldn't he be sworn in as president? just would like to get this more clear, thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Paulkon (talk • contribs) 19:37, 12 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
