Okay, here's an article for an L. A. county supervisor who was definitely notable. I was surprised to see that somebody who had played in the NFL didn't have an article. There's bound to be a ton of stuff about his football career and his political career. I hope somebody will expand on this article who is more familiar with Pete's story. Trauma Centers

Pete Schabarum launched trauma centers in Los Angeles County when the Board of Supervisors approved his motion to study the feasibility of establishing a network of trauma centers to serve the residents of Los Angeles County. The county’s fledging paramedic program was in its early stages when his staff recognized a flaw in the emergency care system affecting the ability of hospital to provide adequate care of victims of severe trauma. The concept of trauma centers subsequently spread across the nation.
