Eh?
[edit]"It is said that the goddess Styx was in love with Phlegethon, but she was consumed by his flames and sent him to Hades. Eventually when Zeus accepted her river to flow through, they reunited."
Is there something I'm missing? Please clarify this, thanks.

I'm also confused by this point. Does this mean his river would have been there first?

- There's a useful set of references here, at theoi.com, but none of them support the Styx story. Gdr 19:24, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
"The Five Rivers of the Underworld" innacuracies?
[edit]The article mentions Phlegethon as one of the five rivers, along with the "rivers Styx, Lethe, Cocytus, and Acheron". Ok so clicking on Cocytus, the wiki there states "There are five rivers encircling Hades. The River Styx is perhaps the most famous; the other rivers are Phlegethon, Lethe, and Erida". So now we have a dispute between Archeron or Erida as one of the 5th rivers. The page of Archeron describes it as a 'branch' of the river Styx. Ok well I don't consider a 'branch' of Styx as one of the five 'rivers', nor should it be described as so. The wiki on Erida (actually Eridanos), describes it as one of the rivers of "Hades", and doesn't mention it as one of five or any of the other rivers of the "underworld". To add further confusion, the last paragraph on the page for Phlegethon states "When Mym is lured into Hell, he decides to incite rebellion against the forces of Satan and uses four of the five major waterways of Hell, among which are the River Lethe, the Archeron, the River Kyoktys, and the River Styx." "Kyoktys" has no wiki entry, so I assume its either a mispelling of "Cocytus" or vice versa and needs to be corrected along with every other corresponding wiki page regarding these "5 major waterways of Hell".
