Info on medicinal uses, allantoin, aucubin, etc.[edit]

Added a little about plantago major and herbal uses. I linked to the allantoin page, which doesn't have enough material. I don't have any material on acubin (anti-toxin, I've seen multiple references to the journal of toxicity.) So, the references on this page are barely sufficient. Plantain = bananas[edit]

It bothers me that such a useful plant, known to almost everyone in the English-speaking world as the plantain, is so difficult to find on Wikipedia, because the search-term 'plantain' takes you to the other sort of plantain, the tree which bears banana-like fruits! Can something be done about this, by way of disambiguation? I am not really experienced enough to want to try, alas g88keeper (talk) 00:10, 3 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It was there before. It got moved to Plantain (disambiguation). See its history. You can still access this article from the plantain article, under the hatnote "for other uses". - Sidelight12 Talk 14:06, 3 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you g88keeper (talk) 06:06, 5 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

yw. I'm not opposed to 'plantain' being a disambiguation page (instead of a redirect), but the banana related use is the most used term for it. It probably belongs better where it is, and it would need consensus now. In order for 'plantain (disambiguation)' to move to 'plantain', it would need consensus, and an administrator's help to move it back. - Sidelight12 Talk 16:29, 5 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
