Statistics

[edit]

A slightly earlier but relevant statistics of polygamy (1961 census report) shows that the incidence of polygamy is highest among the Adivasis (15.25) followed by Buddhists (7.9), Jains (6.72), Hindus (5.80) and Muslims (5.70). —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sammy 2401 (talkcontribs) 19:26, 25 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This article is actually about polygyny

[edit]

Polygamy refers to both polygyny and polyandry. This article covers only the former, while polyandry in India has a separate article, so either this should be renamed to Polygyny in India, or the two should be merged. 2A02:AB88:7506:7280:F578:C933:FD91:F008 (talk) 17:41, 24 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
