Will the station reopen?

[edit]

The original phrasing of the article included the sentence:

There have been recent proposals to examine reopening of the station, along with Willenhall Bilston Street, though a reopening of Portobello seems very unlikely.

The reason that it seems unlikely is twofold. The reference given (West Midlands Local Transport Plan for the corridor) is the only place that I've heard of as examining the reopening of the station, or at least a station in Portobello, if on a different site. There are many references to Willenhall Bilston Street potentially being reopened, but not Portobello.

Secondly, a station that closed in the 19th century due to "being unprofitable" (The History of Portobello) seems a very unlikely candidate for reopening.

Still, you can't prove a negative, so I've removed the offending phrase. My apologies for getting the wrong end of what you were querying, Andy! Fingerpuppet 19:24, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
