Arrest and imprisonment not the same

[edit]

The article states that the Acts allowed authorities to "arrest without trial persons "reasonably suspected" of crime and conspiracy." Arrest and trial are different things. No one is arrested "With" a trial. I suggest that what is meant is "Arrest, and detain without charging a person who is "reasonably suspected" of crime and conspiracy" - if that is what the Act provided.Royalcourtier (talk) 04:54, 20 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Name of act and article

[edit]

Although I moved this article from Protection of Person and Property Act 1881 to Protection of Persons and Property Act 1881 with reason "correct and usual name" I think I was hasty; I am no longer sure what the "correct" or "usual" name is. I have added a footnote explaining; if anyone wants to move the article back to the old name, I have no objection. jnestorius(talk) 14:29, 16 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
