It looks like someone just copied all the information from the Purdue University Airport website and pasted it in the article. I have removed the offending content and placed a new version of the page at Talk:Purdue University Airport/Temp. --MJHankel 17:42, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I deleted the infringing revisions and restored the old revisions. —Centrxtalk • 03:26, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Amelia Earhart,Purdue Airport

[edit]

One wiki page says on thing, another says the other, which is correct?

On the "Purdue" Wikipage it says this:

"Purdue also played a central role in Earhart's ill-fated "Flying Laboratory" project, providing funds for the Lockheed L-10 Electra aircraft she intended to fly around the world. Earhart began her fateful transoceanic flight from the Purdue University Airport.

On the Wikipage "Amelia Earhart" it says this:

"This time flying west to east, the second attempt began with an unpublicized flight from Oakland to Miami, Florida and after arriving there Earhart publicly announced her plans to circumnavigate the globe."

So did she leave from oakland,ca. , miami,fl. or west lafayette,in.?

The airplane was owned by Purdue Research Foundation, and was prepared and outfitted at Purdue University Airport. After being outfitted, it was flown to Oakland to begin the adventure. She suffered a hard landing and turned back. The airplane was then flown to Miami and the adventure began in the opposite direction. Therefore, Oakland and Miami are the technical beginnings of her flights. N419BH (talk) 21:20, 6 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

INCORRECT INFO...CORRECTED

[edit]

the airport is in 'west lafayette' its a seprate town,'lafayette' and 'west lafayette' are divided by the Wabash river.the portion that says the airport is located 3 miles west of downtown 'lafayette' is correct. the 3 miles its reffering to is 'west lafayette',to get to the airport from downtown 'lafayette' you must leave 'lafayette' and cross the river entering 'wast lafayette',continue west untill reaching the aiport never re-entering 'lafayette'. aviation section not relevant

[edit]

The Aviation section of this article strays from the topic. While based at the airport, the Department of Aviation Technology at Purdue is a separate entity. This section needs to be either deleted or expanded and moved to a new article. I have suggested a title on the main page. N419BH (talk) 21:23, 6 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Much of that information is already in Purdue University as well. VerballyInsanet|c 03:24, 7 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What is it?

[edit]

This article states: "One CD-9 that was based at the airport was operated by Purdue Airlines..." What's a CD-9? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.158.48.162 (talk) 15:22, 5 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Midway Connection

[edit]

I believe that Midway Connection flew DHC-8 (Dash 8). I recall using that service many times. Dan Bollinger (talk) 13:34, 1 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
