Respectfully, IMO there is nothing so unique about a Japanese "purikura" that would distinguish itself from a photo booth. I suspect this page was created and developed to further the fetishing of Japanese culture, but many, if not all, of the details here can be folded into the parent article. --Roehl Sybing 03:41, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not the creator of this article, though I did put some effort into making it less terrible than it was when I discovered it. If I were thin-skinned, I might not be happy about the inference that I developed it in order "to further the fetishing of Japanese culture"; as it is, I'm just amused.
I see no reason either not to fold it into Photo booth or not to zap the purikura material from Photo booth. Whichever you like, as far as I'm concerned. The purikura seems a distinct (and now distinctly obsolescent) kind of photo booth to me, but I'm no expert. -- Hoary 04:10, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
According to my understanding, photo booth is more formal (e.g. the photo is to be used in resumes, forms, etc); while purikura is more informal (e.g. for fun). So, no merge. --minghong 17:19, 16 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
