Name

[edit]

Theoretically, it should be Julianeshaab (which is what the Edinburgh Encyclopedia gives), but the original edit here is Julianehaab and other maps show Julianshaab. I assume the last is off, but isn't the second wrong too? or do we have a source for it outside Wikipedia? — LlywelynII 03:59, 28 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, this Danish source pretty clearly gives Julianehaab, so we'll go back to that. — LlywelynII 02:36, 29 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Location

[edit]

This map and this one show "Julianshaab" and "Kakortok" as separate settlements, with Qaqortoq located upfjord from Julianeshaab. Were they not originally the same settlement? Was one relocated to the other? Which and when? — LlywelynII 15:43, 28 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Quacker duck

[edit]

I went to the ogg file in this article about how to say this name. It sounds like "quacker duck". Georgia guy (talk) 00:32, 6 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Cyberbot II has detected links on Qaqortoq which have been added to the blacklist, either globally or locally. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed or are highly inappropriate for Wikipedia. The addition will be logged at one of these locations: local or global If you believe the specific link should be exempt from the blacklist, you may request that it is white-listed. Alternatively, you may request that the link is removed from or altered on the blacklist locally or globally. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. Please do not remove the tag until the issue is resolved. You may set the invisible parameter to "true" whilst requests to white-list are being processed. Should you require any help with this process, please ask at the help desk.

Below is a list of links that were found on the main page:

Triggered by \bsearates\.com\b on the local blacklist
