Name[edit]

So, did they just run out of letters for 'Queen Street', or is there a legit reason for this station to be called just 'Queen' ? MickMacNee (talk) 23:28, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Every other station that is named after the street doesn't have 'street' in it (with the exception of Main Street) Why should this station be any different? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.234.201.111 (talk) 22:02, 7 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

For some reason it's TTC policy to leave out the second half of the street name when naming a station — hence King, Queen, Lawrence, etc. This has in turn been copied by several other places in Canada. Main Street is excepted presumably for fear that people would think it was the 'main' station of the system. David Arthur (talk) 23:06, 7 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
