Name

Her name was Po Beg and it was sourced. Now I see that the title has been moved to Qutluk Qatun. OK, this may be an alternative name. But why was the original name deleted ? Nedim Ardoğa (talk) 08:26, 14 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • @Nedim Ardoğa: The so-termed "original name" "Po Beg", which Gumilyov used, is a faulty reconstructed Old Turkic form based on a clerical error which changed 娑匐 (MC: *sɑ-bɨuk̚ > Ch. suōfú) into 婆匐 (MC: *buɑ-bɨuk > Ch. pófú). The correctly reconstructed underlying Old Turkic is Sebeg (based on Batbold & Kasai's researches). Errors, even if by otherwise sources, should not perpetuated.
