Steckler in the 60s

We know he made the White Rabbit promo, that sure looks like Carolyn Brandt cavorting, Isadora Duncan-style, on the beach. But what association did Steckler have with Janis Joplin? Or, even more speciously, Todd Rundgren, who was a New York City resident for most of that time? I've found nothing to back these associations up; it's gone until someone else can document it.
