Edit Request

[edit]

Would it be acceptable to place Lagpus lagopus scotica as Vulnerable under the European assesment of the Willow ptarmigan? http://oldredlist.iucnredlist.org/details/22679460/1 (The UK is listed as a country of occurance) I will not make the edit until permission is given. Donkey8, I think that may be a bit misleading on its own, it's the local status of this subspecies that's more relevant. Perhaps better to say that the willow grouse as a species is Vulnerable, and that this subspecies is Amber listed in the UK, as here Jimfbleak - talk to me? 05:16, 11 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Contradictory hatnote?

[edit]

The hatnote on this page says, "Not to be confused with Moorcock", but the disambiguation page Moorcock includes under Other uses, "the red grouse". No wonder we're confused. Theodore Kloba () 20:47, 3 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not contradictory. That's how disambiguation pages work. - UtherSRG (talk) 21:02, 3 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Species split

[edit]

Heads up: IOC are splitting Red Grouse as a separate species Lagopus scotica, effective 1 July 2024 with IOC version 14.2 - MPF (talk) 20:25, 19 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
