NN tag[edit]

The following discussion is closed and will soon be archived: outcome was: merged/redirected

Per the NN tag added in 2021, and the related edit summary, I propose to:

I propose this because, in all honesty, and as noted by the tag and related EDSUMM, the broader civil parish/area would seem to have more inherent/evident notability than this small area/estate within it... Guliolopez (talk) 21:41, 12 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Bump. As above, I have gone ahead and (on the basis that it meets WP:GEOLAND) have changed the St. Margaret's, Dublin title from a redirect to an article. Unless there are other thoughts, I will likely move ahead with the merge/redirect of this title (on a housing estate within St. Margaret's) to that article. Otherwise and as above (and while technically a census tract) I don't see how Rivermeade has independent notability. Certainly not (as things were) seemingly more so than the broader area in which it stands... Guliolopez (talk) 20:58, 28 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Final bump. While, technically, Rivermeade is outside the civil parish and townland of St Margaret's (falling instead within the townland of Toberburr and one of the odd outlying exclaves of the civil parish of Finglas) all the sources I can find give Rivermeade as part of the St Margaret's "area". Or otherwise use St Margaret's within Rivermeade addresses (national school, nursing home, etc). While this has given me some pause on how to effect the merge, absent other thoughts/objections, I'll still go ahead with the merge/redirect shortly. Well, I'd fully support that. Rivermeade is a bit of an outlier, but certainly not article-level. Indeed technically in Finglas, it is for operational purposes treated as part of St Margaret's, as far as I can tell. And St Margaret's, with a hamlet core, church and established (if dried out) holy well, golf course, school, riding and other service establishments, on the other hand does rate an article.  Resolved OK. Based on the support/recommendation, I've gone ahead with the merge/redirect. For clarity, this involved taking the Rivermeade content, moving/adding it verbatim to the St Margaret's article, making the Rivermeade title a redirect, and finally doing some cleanup (mainly to remove some redundancy and put like with like) in the target article. I think the result is an improvement. But happy, of course, for others to input as needed. Guliolopez (talk) 14:54, 2 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
