New Image?

Basically Smash Bros Ultimate has a new and improved render of Robin and i was wondering if we should swap the image with the new one but I couldn’t find any images of the Male Robin and Female Robin together. Unlike SSB4 (Super Smash Brothers For Wii U/3DS) which does have a render of them together. BricksBrick (talk) 12:53, 31 October 2022 (UTC)

Robin is referred to as "they" because Robin can be both a male or female character. "They" is used as a gender neutral term to encompass both possibilities for Robin's gender. Has one ever considered Magneton? Pokelego999 (talk) 21:33, 1 August 2024 (UTC)

This is historically how two people of multiple genders have been referred to as a group. Given how this covers both male and female Robin, this is used in order to refer to both characters. If you wish to change what's used, it'd be best to discuss this without being accusatory towards other editors and assuming bad faith. Has one ever considered Magneton? They is listed in the AP stylebook as being acceptable when referring to someone of unknown or indeterminate gender. Robin is a character with no fixed gender, hence why the word 'they' is used instead of he or she. Both Robins are canon, so it should reflect that. It's clear the games have multiple universes, thus making both things viable, there's never been any proof of there being "no canon gender" or "one canon gender" so by saying he/she you don't alienate anyone 2601:249:1B01:9890:F1B3:70D7:B63E:D59A (talk) 02:44, 2 August 2024 (UTC)

They is appropriate here per wikipedia's manual of style. A lot of what you're pushing for is original research. Using they allows both gendered Robins to be referred to simultaneously. If transphobia is going to get in the way of finally getting rid of the awful "he/she" construction I'm going to scream. Anyway, here's some sources used in the article that use 'they' to describe to this character whose gender can be either male or female: [1], [2], [3]. Meanwhile, these sources use the "he/she" construction: [4], [5].
