[edit]As Rodel's sister, I completely revised Rodel's page. User:Deliacontreras 14:49, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, even though you are his sister, articles here have to be sourced from websites, reference materials, etc. - 203.87.194.142 (talk) 10:53, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
Fortunately, this article has been sourced from websites (rodelnaval.com), reference materials (The Life of Rodel Naval - Restored Identity by Avon Hazielle Maralit as narrated by Rosalie Naval Memije who is one of the siblings of Rodel Naval); and Rauni Salminen who interviewed Rodel few weeks before he passed away. When Rosalie first met Avon, she had a sense of confidence that she was the right author for the book. Avon's simplicity, intelligence, and a heart for God and others, qualify her to author this book. She expressed that she would not have been interested in writing Rodel's story had the purpose of the book been merely to "glorify" a celebrity. Here is how Avon described her writing experience about writing; she wrote: I do not consider that I have any specialization. I lend the hands and ink to what must be written, so to speak. I began writing professionally as a teenager when I waas tapped to be one of the main writers for a features magazine. From there I went on to various writing requests and assignmens even while I built my path toward management in the industry of information technology. I often joked that my affinity with writing stemmed from the fact that my parents named me after the river that runs through William Shakespeare's hometown. However. the love was born in my heart, the journey of writing had been nothing short of a journey of faith. Each project that came my way opened a window through which I was allowed to peek into God's magnificent orchestration of human situations. Therein is the gift of this undertaking.
Rauni Salminen, the author of the second half of the Book, was the Director of Operations and Pastoral Director of the Philip Aziz Centre, an AIDS hospice in Toronto. The centre now supports people with any life limiting illness. Rauni conducted a series interviews with Rodel in the last few week of his life. An ordained minister, she has a bachelor's degree in educaton and a master in theological studies. She aldo holds a diploma in social work. (The Financial Post, published December 9, 2013). Rauni was presented with the WXN Canada's Most Powerful Women: Top 100 award in the Xstrata Nickel Trailblazers and Trendseters Category. As well, Delia Naval Contreras and Joyce Russell have made a great contribution and have played a vital role in every stage of this book. Joyce has edited each successive draft of the manuscript and provided suggestions and ecouragement along the way. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tatangmartin (talk • contribs) 13:43, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
