Saket or Saketa?
[edit]In Sanskrit, the word साकेत is 'Saketa', but in languages like Hindi which were derived from Sanskrit, it is 'Saket'. Had the Sanskrit word been साकेत् , it would have been pronounced as Saket in Sanskrit as well, but this is not the case. Since Sanskrit is no longer as popular in India today as its derivatives, the name 'Saketa' is seldom given to boys (they are named 'Saket'). This is similar to how Rama is used as Ram and Shiva is used as Shiv.
Since this word originated in Sanskrit, I request mods to rename it to Saketa. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Raghav Sharman (talk • contribs) 12:12, 13 November 2013 (UTC)
